A discussion on my career choice

There are three reasons why I aspire to be an accountant when I grow up. An accountant gets to earn an attractive salary while at the same time, enjoy job stability. The last reason is that I could finish schooling quickly and easily.

A career as an accountant is a good choice if I am pursuing a career that can reward myself with a handsome salary.Being an accountant offers a great deal of job stability. In fact, according to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment opportunities for accountants are expected to grow faster than the average job over the next several years. As the number of businesses continue to grow and as financial laws continue to change, there will be an increasing demand for those with an accounting degree. So, if we want a job that provides ourself with a great deal of stability and a handsome income, consider heading to school and earning an accounting degree.

One of the benefits of pursuing a career in accounting is the fact that one can get started in an accounting career after earning just a bachelor’s degree. In some cases, one can begin working in the field after only completed 2 years of formal training. In addition, there are several online colleges that offer degree programs for those who are interested in becoming an accountant.

Information about the career of my choice

An accountant is an individual who performs accounting tasks for individuals or companies. The exact material that an accountant handles varies depending on the size of the company and the accountant's specialization, but generally includes financial records, taxes, and responsibility for the issuing of financial reports. An accountant is one of the primary figures in a business that he or she works for, whether it is a multinational corporation or a small family owned business. Requirements to become an accountant vary upon specialization and nation, but generally include certification through a professional agency and a basic college degree in accounting and finance.

In a small firm, an accountant may be responsible for keeping all financial records. These records include payroll information, account payable, accounts receivable, retail sales, and information regarding investments held by the company. These accounts are kept organized in ledgers which are used to asses the financial health of a company. Ledgers are always kept up to date, and may be consulted by managers and high ranking members of a company when they are making major business decisions.

In larger firms, accountants also perform internal audits, to ensure that the financial records of the company are accurate. Because of bias concerns, an internal audit cannot be handled by an accountant who regularly handles the material concerned, and many companies hire outside accounting firms to perform audits. When this is the case, the company should not be contracted to handle any of the company's other financial material, as this may represent a conflict of interest.

In most cases, an accountant will choose to specialize in a particular field such as audits, book keeping, or taxes. In other instances, an accountant may acquire a wide range of skills to better serve his or her clients. This is common with certified public accountants who handle the books for several small businesses at once. In both instances, the accountant must have strong math skills, as well as an education in accounting.

Depending on the type of accounting being performed, certification by the state may be required. State certification is usually required for accountants who perform audits and other sensitive accounting tasks, while it is not as vitally necessary for accounting clerks who work under certified accountants. Commonly, an accountant is also a member of a professional organization of accountants, and takes advantage of meetings and seminars to keep up with advances in the field.

Some personal details such as my hobbies, likes and dislikes and daily home and school-life

My hobbies are listening to music, shopping, reading, cycling and chatting. I really enjoyed listening to music because it helps me to relax. Listening to music can also energize me. Shopping also helps me to relax. Sometimes, I window shop just to kill time. I enjoyed reading books, especially books that are fictional. Reading books or newspapers could improve my English. Cycling is one of my hobbies because it not only helps us to keep fit but also having fun. Chatting with friends via the internet or the phone is one of my favourite hobbies because it strengthens our relationship. I like to watch television. Especially those drama series. One example of a drama that I really enjoyed watching is “ToGetHer”.

I dislike playing outdoor games as it is very hot. Every Monday to Friday, I would wake up at 6 am in the morning. I only have 1 hour to prepare myself for school. During that one hour, I only have time to wash up, eat breakfast, tie hair and time to change into my school uniform. After school, I will sleep for approximately 2 hours to “recharge my battery”. After that, it would be approximately 6 pm and I will have my dinner and take a shower. Around 7 pm, I would be in my room doing revision or homework till around 12am. During weekends, I usually study for at least 2 hours. Weekends are my relaxation time.
